What is the LilyGo T3 S3?

The LilyGo T3 S3 is a compact, high-performance LoRa development board designed for long-range, low-power wireless communication. It's the modern successor to the popular LoRa32 series.

Powered by the ESP32-S3 chip with integrated WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0, this board combines powerful processing capabilities with excellent connectivity. The 0.96" OLED screen provides direct feedback on network activity.

Meshtastic recommends the T3 S3 as the best choice within the LilyGo LoRa series. Range can be up to 15 km in optimal conditions, 1-3 km in urban areas depending on obstacles.

Detailed Description

The T3 S3 is the latest generation of LilyGo's LoRa development boards. The board is available with different LoRa chips: SX1262 868MHz, SX1276 868MHz, and even SX1280 2.4GHz variants.

For European use, choose the 868 MHz variant (SX1262 or SX1276). The SX1262 offers slightly better performance and lower power consumption than the older SX1276.

Note: This is a development board - you'll need a case and antenna for practical use. Always connect an antenna before powering on to avoid damage to the radio.
